I Am Warlock

I Am Warlock is a PvP arena game. The player assumes the role of a powerful Arch-Warlock of Hell and battles against other human players using various abilities in an effort to ascend to the Devil's throne. The player has a variety of spells (abilities) at their disposal.

The Devil himself wishes to pass his throne on to a successor, as he finally intends to retire to a well-deserved rest. To this end, he selects the five greatest warlocks of the Underworld—his subjects. These five are to face off and test their mettle against one another in the Arena of Retribution and Sin.

As the five warlocks battle it out, the Devil causes parts of the immersive arena to sink into lava! After all, it wouldn’t be any fun otherwise, would it?

The players’ objective is to strike their opponents using specific abilities and catapult them out of the playing field. Every ability possesses a knockback effect; whenever a player is struck by an ability (e.g., a fireball), they are hurled in the opposite direction. Should a player touch the edge of the playable map (the perimeter) or the lava itself, they lose Hit Points (HP).

Game Features:
– The avatar is playable from a third-person, top-down perspective.
– The game begins on a walkable platform in Hell.
– Each avatar (Warlock) spawns at a random position on the map.
– A match continues until one player has won three rounds.
– The winner is the last Warlock remaining.
– The longer the match lasts, the more of the environment is destroyed, and new lava appears.

I Am Warlock was developed as a competitive arena game and was showcased at the "Trier University of Applied Sciences Open Day" event.
There, visitors were able to experience the game using a gamepad and compete against one another.
